Do you accept being Mediocre?

I am aware that some of you might stop reading the article just after the provocative title.
I am taking the risk, but man, am I bad at math? I do know that there are going to be people
thinking, even shouting, we are meant to be extraordinary and exceptional in every matter. The
true is – most of us – are not. While reading the Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club novel you might
bump into a sentence describing the topic of my today’s, really personal, text “You are not
special. You’re not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You’re the same decaying organic matter
as everything else. We’re all part of the same compost heap. We’re all singing, all dancing crap
of the world.”

Frankly speaking, there is nothing sui generis in our existence, there have been billions of
people born throughout the history of the Earth. There have been individuals of whom the human
race will never forget, both the good and the evil. However, a majority of the population did not leave
even a single mark of their life. So, are we already doomed and our days do not matter at all? In
a macro-scale, probably yes. Do not get fooled that you can achieve anything and anytime; if you
are not already working in the CERN, there is a little chance that you are going to implement a
new theory describing the characteristics of the Dark Matter etc.

However, looking at the micro-scale, at our daily lives, which create our ever-changing
micro cosmos, everything gets brighter and brighter. You may not find revolutionary cancer’s
cure, but you may make every day you wake up as the best of your life, a day to remember.

Be honest, and ask yourself a simple question: When was the last time you did something new
for the first time? When was the last time you spent a day with your dad messing around like you were both twenty years younger? Where was the last time you did something spontaneously like going to have a piece of cheesecake on a bench in the park? When was the last time you were truly happy? There goes that awkward silence…

We, as humans, tend to dream about the future, projecting things which we are too afraid to achieve or even start doing.
While forgetting that what matters the most is today and tomorrow, the given 24 hours, every morning you open the eyes. No more, no less.
I see way too many folks thinking about changing the world when they cannot develop proper eating habits. It is fine to dream big, but even better do it on a daily basis, even being unnoticeable.

Get a passion, be motivated, never settle – we all have heard these words like million times, they are plain simple. But you know what? They are as true as they get… The feel of being fulfilled must be one of the best feelings you can imagine. It just makes you happy to know that you squeezing your life to the limits. It does not have to be creating a space ship traveling to Mars (let that work for Elon Musk, really!). Just do not wait for a good moment, this time has come and it is now. No tomorrow, no yesterday – just right now, right here. If the way your earn money makes you unhappy and demotivated – change it immediately. Remember you one life and the only one, do not get fooled by an illusion that you still have time for everything – what if you do not?

“I can’t tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start
Life’s a game made for everyone
And love is the prize”
